In a bid to enhance the learning experience for students, the Rural Teachers Association (RTA) and Teachers Across Borders from the US, conducted a four-day training workshop for teachers from various schools in greater Masaka.

Melissa Davis, leading the delegation from Teachers Across Borders, acknowledged the challenges faced by Ugandan teachers in adapting to the new curriculum and emphasised the need for regular training to equip teachers with new skills and techniques.

"I have Recently got Information that Uganda Changed to a new curriculum in secondary schools and teachers faced challenges to adopt the new teaching mode," she said.

"This justifies the fact that, teachers always need fresh trainings and new tactics, so that they can cope up with new situations and come up with better teaching creativity, by engaging learners for the best results."-

"Teachers deserve regular training to cope with new situations and develop better teaching creativity, engaging learners for the best results," Davis added.

The training that took four days aimed to empower teachers to build self-confidence, innovative ideas, and sustainability, ultimately benefiting their students and communities.

Some of the teachers from different Primary Schools in Masaka who participated in the training, said what they learned will speed up their work and help the learners.

"We believe this training will result in positive change in our teaching methods, producing self-reliant, kind, and innovative pupils who will transform their communities," said a participating teacher.

They applauded the teachers across borders for the engagement with them, which they believe will results into create positive change in their way of teaching, and producing self reliant, kind and innovative pupils who will become responsible citizens in future and transform their communities.
