Rotary Club of Kampala South installs new president

The Rotary club of Kampala south has installed the 33rd president and board to serve in the rotary 2024/2025 to carry on service above self.

The event also saw the first and official visit of the district 9213 governor to the club in this rotary year.

While giving his inaugural speech as the new president of rotary club of Kampala south, Sam Sewagudde called upon club members to foster accountability and compassion.

" We should be remember as members who were accountable and a club that was giving and we should all strive to achieve that," Sewagudde said.

Anne Nkutu, the new district governor, encouraged the club to focus on consolidating the existing projects to have an impact as opposed to distributing resources in various places.

Rotary also launched the new giving platform dubbed 25 by 25 The rotary foundation (TRF) relay a new mobile solution for the rotary foundation in order to make giving easier and more convenient for more Rotarians, to help local communities.

"The new giving platform will complement other ways that Rotarians give to the Rotary Foundation, including direct card payments and collections from their clubs," District Governor, Nkutu noted.

Rotary International has set a target of growing the Foundation's Endowment Fund to $2.025 billion by 2025.

" District 9213, which covers most of Uganda, in turn aims to raise a minimum of $700,000 to contribute to this global target. Part of increasing the impact of our community service projects is ensuring that we have a strong resource base," said Nkutu.

The rotary club of Kampala south has 150 members.
