Why you should not date a celebrity

In Uganda we have had high profile couples breaking up and every detail of the whole entanglement and situation put under the media microscope.

A recent case in point is the Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleon and Daniella Atim split.

Daniella was raised and bred within the catholic church premises and for us who grew up around St. James Biina occasionally saw a humble beautiful Acholi girl, but how musician Dr. Chameleon swept her off her feet is a mystery!

Now after close to two decades of a turbulent marriage the two broke up .

It reminds me of several celebrities and not so famous ugandans such as Kassim the dream and songstress Juliana Kanyomozi, Juliana Kanyomozi and footballer Mujib Kasule, Juliana Kanyomozi again and Amon Lukwago, okay enough of Juliana let's mention socialite Sheila Gashumba and Rickman, or TV show host Faridah Nakazibwe and politician Hajji Moses Kigongo and many others.

Now choosing a partner be tricky especially when the heart decides, the Brian shutdown and the eyes go blind, but is it worthy it?

Artificial intelligence says that dating a celebrity can be challenging and may come with several drawbacks.

Here are some reasons why you might want to think twice before dating a celebrity:

1. Lack of privacy: Your relationship will be under constant scrutiny by the media and the public.

2. Unbalanced attention: The celebrity's career and fame may overshadow your own life and accomplishments.

3. Different lifestyles: Celebrities often have busy schedules, travel frequently, and attend high-profile events, which can make it difficult to maintain a normal relationship.

4. Pressure and stress: The constant spotlight can create pressure and stress on the relationship.

5. Trust issues: The risk of infidelity or betrayal is higher in the public eye.

6. Difficulty in building a sense of normalcy: The glamour and luxury of celebrity life can make it hard to build a genuine connection.

7. Limited personal space: You may face constant media attention, paparazzi, and fan attention.

8. Potential for exploitation: You may be seen as a way to boost the celebrity's image or gain attention.

Remember, these are general points, and every relationship is unique. Some celebrity relationships work out beautifully - you can mention Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and Barbara Itungo - doesn't like look good from a far?, but it's essential to be aware of the potential challenges.
