NRM extends registration deadline to May

Todwong confirmed that a second phase will commence in May 2024, accommodating all members who were unable to participate initially.

Following the conclusion of the five-day National Resistance Movement (NRM) yellow book update and registration of new members, Secretary General Richard Todwong has revealed plans to provide another opportunity for those who missed the exercise.

Todwong confirmed that a second phase will commence in May 2024, accommodating all members who were unable to participate initially.

"We have acknowledged the concerns raised by some members who missed the update and registration exercise," he said.

"This extension will particularly target students who are still in school and are potential members."

Todwong noted hat students who are turning 18 and are currently in school will have the opportunity to register during their holiday break in May.

In addition to catering to missed registrations, the second phase aims to reach all 72,000 villages across the country and facilitate online registration for members of the diaspora.

"We are extending the update of the yellow book and registration of new members to include all 72,000 villages and individuals in the diaspora," Todwong said.

The decision to extend the registration deadline comes in response to calls from members of the Party’s top organ, the Central Executive Committee, who advocated for an extension due to various reasons including logistical challenges and time constraints.
