SFC speaks out on chaos at Kololo after Museveni launched Salaam bank
The Special Forces Command has dismissed as untrue, claims that one of its soldiers captured in a video aimed at beating people at Kololo independence grounds.
A video making rounds on social media captured members of the public scrambling for free food served after President Museveni left Kololo where he had officiated the launch of Salaam bank.

In the video, a soldier is seen beating members of the public who were scrambling for free food.
It has since elicited mixed reactions, especially on social media.
Commenting about the incident, the SFC spokesperson, Maj Jimmy Omara said the soldier was only trying to save the situation which was going out of hand.
He explained that the launch of the bank went on well until President Museveni exited the grounds.
“The organisers had a separate plan of distributing food handouts to the Muslims who had turned up for Duwa prayers. Unfortunately, the organisers did not put in place strict and adequate measures once distribution started. The SFC soldier seen carrying a stick was therefore attempting to calm down a situation that was already out of hand,” Maj Omara said.
He insisted that the soldier didn’t intend to beat members of the public but rather save the situation which had turned chaotic.
