Victoria University pharmacy programme earns NCHE accreditation
Victoria University joins the cream of higher institutions awarding degree in pharmacy

EDUCATION | Victoria University has achieved a significant milestone by receiving accreditation for its Bachelor of Pharmacy programme, making it the sixth university in Uganda to offer this prestigious qualification.

This accomplishment signifies the university's commitment to providing top-tier health science education and preparing future pharmacists for successful careers.

Meeting the rigorous standards set by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and featuring the most advanced Pharmacy Laboratory in Uganda, the institution of learning is now positioned as a leader in pharmaceutical education.

The accreditation process involved close collaboration with the NCHE and the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda, ensuring a smooth and successful outcome.

"We are thrilled to have received this accreditation, this achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our administration and the Faculty of Health Sciences, who have worked tirelessly to meet the highest standards," noted Dr Lawrence Muganga, the university vice chancellor.

The National Council for Higher Education played a critical role in the accreditation process, ensuring that the program met all necessary requirements with the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda also providing guidance through the process.

Victoria University’s accredited Bachelor of Pharmacy program aims to meet the growing demand for skilled pharmacists in Uganda.

Victoria University becomes the sixth institution of higher learning in the country to offer Bachelor of Pharmacy programme after others such as Makerere, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, and Kampala International University.
