Todwong asks Lango NRM supporters to stand up against opposition propaganda
The NRM Secretary General. Richard Todwong has challenged party leaders and supporters in the Lango sub region to stand up against intimidation and propaganda by opposition politicians.
"NRM supporters are the majority in Lango. Why should you be bullied by the minority? Stand up and speak up about the good things President Museveni and his leadership have done instead of feeling victimized and helpless," Todwong said.

"NRM is known for promoting unity, prosperity and peace from border to border unlike previous regimes which were famous for human right violations and state inspired violence.
He was speaking on Wednesday while meeting NRM leaders from the 10 districts that make up Lango sub- region in Lira City.
Todwong also took a swipe at some party leaders and supporters whom he said are always in bed with the opposition.
"Be NRM inside and out both day and night. When you are everywhere, you are nowhere as a leade. Divided loyalty breeds greed, selfishness and laziness in leaders which we cannot tolerate in the mass party.”
He warned against lamenting about the decline in the party’s support in Lango sub regions but asked leaders to address issues affecting people.
This way he said they will be able to win back support.
"The people vote for leaders who speak to their feelings and desires. Once the NRM abandons them, they seek refuge in other parties in search for hope and better livelihoods," Todwong said.
"You should be seen advocating for better service delivery by condemning corruption, denouncing over charging of school fees in government schools among other issues. This is the only way to win over support and love from the ordinary voters.”
Apac district Woman Member of Parliament, Susan Engola said bickering among the party members is partly to blame for the decline in performance of the NRM.
"The bickering has given an opportunity to our opponents to make quick inroads into some of the NRM territories yet with cohesion, such negative forces would be contained.
Dr. Tanga Odoi, the NRM Electoral Commission Chairman reiterated that leaders endeavor to resist wrong things even if they are done by the government officials.
“This is the way we shall make our party popular and likeable in the population,” Tanga said.
The three-day activity which began today was also attended by NRM Directors, Hon. Emmanuel Dombo for communications, Hajjat Medina Naham for Finance and Administration, Awich Polar, the Director for External Relations and Maj. Okwir Rabwoni, the director of Youth and Institutions.
SG Todwong tomorrow together his team and area legislators will traverse Kwania, Apac and Dokolo districts to attend community barazas aimed at diagnosing the issues related to fishing communities challenges and wetlands usage.
