MediaAge Wins Big at 2024 PRAU Awards

MediaAge Ltd reaffirmed its dominance in Uganda’s public relations industry by winning the prestigious PR Agency of the Year award for the second year in a row at the 8th Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) Excellence Awards.
The gala, held on November 29 at Protea Hotel Kampala, celebrated innovation under the theme “Recognising Innovation.”
MediaAge’s impressive streak continued as the agency scooped two additional awards: Corporate Communication Campaign of the Year and Overall PR Campaign of the Year 2024.
These accolades cement MediaAge’s status as a leader in crafting transformative communication strategies.
“These awards validate our relentless commitment to innovation and excellence,” said MediaAge’s Lead Consultant, John Chihi.
“Our team’s dedication and the trust of our clients inspire us to continue delivering impactful communication solutions.”
The awards, adjudicated by a panel led by Dr. Innocent Nahabwe, highlighted innovation across campaigns but also identified areas for improvement.
“While the submissions were impressive, categories like crisis communication and student campaigns lacked depth,” Dr. Nahabwe noted, encouraging entrants to align submissions more closely with campaign objectives.
The event, a convergence of Uganda’s top PR practitioners, government leaders, and corporate executives, also underscored the industry’s role in shaping perceptions and driving growth.
Guest of Honour, Hon. Shartsi Musherure, MP for Mawogola County North, pledged her support for the Public Relations Practitioners’ Bill in Parliament.
“This bill is vital to professionalizing the industry and ensuring PR practitioners are adequately recognized and regulated,” Musherure said. “PRAU’s efforts in fostering professionalism and innovation are commendable, and I am committed to championing this cause.”
PRAU President Tina Wamala applauded the winners for their creativity and resilience.
“Innovation fuels progress. It’s what sets exceptional PR campaigns apart,” she said, urging practitioners to explore bold, new ideas.
Corporate leaders also joined in celebrating MediaAge’s achievements. Rhona Arinaitwe, MTN Uganda’s Senior Manager for Corporate Communications, said, “MediaAge’s strategic approach has amplified our brand presence and impact. This recognition is well-deserved.”
Samuel Matekha, Head of Marketing at Diamond Trust Bank Uganda, echoed these sentiments, lauding MediaAge as a “trusted partner whose creativity and professionalism elevate our public relations efforts.”
With a proven track record of innovation and impactful campaigns, MediaAge continues to raise the bar for PR excellence in Uganda.
