"Prioritise education at all costs; it is vital for community transformation," he advised.
The delegation, led by Mr. Nsenye Hassan, included Sheikh Hamdan Monda, the Deputy Kadhi; Hajjat Fatuma Nagudi Norah, District Secretary for Women & Children; and Mr. Maberi Hamza, Patron of the Bugwere High School Muslim Students Association.
Mubaje welcomed the group and highlighted the historical role of UMSC since its establishment in 1972, recounting both challenges and achievements under his leadership over the past two decades.
In response to Hajjat Nagudi’s appeal for support in sponsoring female youths in tailoring, the Mufti pledged to consider their request for sewing machines. He also informed the delegation of half-bursary opportunities at Islamic Call University and scholarships from other partner institutions.
Mr. Nsenye Hassan commended the Mufti’s resilience in uniting the Muslim community and presented a proposal for a concrete brick and paver-making project. Mubaje assured them that the proposal would be forwarded to the National Management Committee for consideration.
Sheikh Imran Abdunoor Ssali encouraged youths to take advantage of UMSC’s inclusive leadership, noting that young people now head various Council departments.
"The current administration has incorporated youths into its constitution. Utilize these great opportunities to become educated, enterprising, and innovative Muslims," he said.
UMSC National Youth Chairperson Habib Mustafa also shared updates on youth activities and pledged to visit Budaka to assess development initiatives.
