Driver recklessly overtaking Police traffic director's vehicle arrested
A driver who was recklessly overtaking the vehicle of Traffic Police director, Lawrence Nuwabiine has been arrested.
According to Michael Kananura,the Traffic Police spokesperson, Daniel Lwolekya 33 was observed speeding and overtaking carelessly, ignoring safety protocols.

Kananura said despite being signaled to stop by officers under instructions of Nuwabiine, who was traveling along the same route, the driver refused to comply and became aggressive.
The vehicle was eventually intercepted at a checkpoint in Kyabadaza.
Kananura said inspections revealed multiple violations, including driving with an expired permit, using illegal sirens, and operating a vehicle with unauthorized modified lights.
The suspect is currently detained at Mpigi Police Station and faces multiple charges, with a court appearance pending.
“This incident serves as a stark reminder that reckless driving will not be tolerated,” Kananura stated.
“Such behavior endangers not only the driver but also the lives of other road users. We urge all road users to exercise caution, courtesy, and responsibility when using the road.”
The police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring road safety and enforcing traffic regulations to reduce incidents of reckless driving.
This arrest comes days after Police announced a crackdown on reckless drivers during the festive season
