Museveni to grace 43rd APPAM roundtable conference in Munyonyo
President Museveni is expected to grace the 43rd edition of the roundtable conference for the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management(APPAM)
The conference will take place between November 26-29 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, under the theme; ‘Agile resilient public administration for sustainable development in Africa’.

Speaking on Thursday, the Minister for Public Service, Wilson Muruli Mukasa said the conference will feature a rich program including keynote speeches from renowned experts, panel discussions, and interactive workshops.
He noted that the over 700 delegates will have the unique opportunity to engage with thought leaders and peers, gaining insights and forging valuable connections.
“The conference will lead to increased tourism and spending from international delegates but also position Uganda as a for international events, attracting more visitors and business in the future,” Muruuli said.
He said the conference will facilitate the exchange of ideas, best practices, and innovations among professionals from various fields but also offer networking opportunities.
“It will provide a platform for local businesses and professionals to connect with international counterparts, fostering collaborations but also promote cultural exchange, showcasing Uganda’s unique culture to an international audience.”
The minister said the conference will be a platform for attracting foreign investment by highlighting Uganda’s strengths and opportunities.
“Hosting the 43rd round table conference will provide an opportunity to Uganda as a country to boost its tourism potential, demonstrate the hospitality of Ugandan people, their culture and increase national visibility in the region and on the continent.”
The head of public service, Lucy Nakyobe said the conference will attract a cross section of public administration professionals, the private sector, Civil Society Organisations, policymakers, academics, and practitioners across Africa and beyond, who will convene to share insights, strategies, and best practices in navigating Africa’s Development Agenda towards a sustainable future.
“This is in line with Agenda 2030 and 2063, aiming to create governance systems that are both dynamic and robust enough to secure a prosperous future for all Africans. The 43rd edition aims to further elevate the discourse on governance and public administration within the context of Africa's developmental aspirations and global commitments,”Nakyobe said.
“The focus is on building robust administrative capacities that can sustain developmental momentum and harness innovations to meet the diverse needs of a growing population.”
She said the platform will address a spectrum of concerns, ranging from policy formulation and execution to the nuances of research, innovation, and the multifaceted socio-economic and environmental challenges confronting the continent.
“The overall goal is to cultivate actionable insights, foster knowledge sharing, and stimulate recommendations that will guide decision-making processes, shape impactful policies, and catalyze transformative change.”
