Barnabas Tinkasiimire has openly questioned the political viability of General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, sparking fresh debate over the general's influence on Uganda's political future.

Tinkasiimire  criticized Muhoozi’s perceived role in the country's political landscape, dismissing the notion that he is a strong contender for leadership.

“They were saying Muhoozi is a standby generator and I told them it won’t start,” Tinkasiimire stated, using a metaphor to suggest that despite Muhoozi’s growing visibility, his chances of rising to power are slim.

Tinkasiimire’s comments come as speculation continues to grow about Muhoozi’s potential bid for the presidency. As the son of President Yoweri Museveni, Muhoozi has been at the center of national political discussions, with supporters promoting him as a figure of stability and continuity.

However, critics like Tinkasiimire argue that Muhoozi lacks the political machinery to make a significant impact, especially in a highly competitive environment.

This remark is the latest in a series of public critiques aimed at Muhoozi by opposition figures and independent-minded politicians. Despite the criticisms, Muhoozi maintains a loyal following, especially among younger Ugandans who view him as a potential reformer.

With Uganda's next election approaching, the political landscape remains uncertain, and figures like Tinkasiimire continue to challenge the growing influence of Muhoozi and his supporters.
