Maseruka, who played a significant role in the student leadership at Makerere University, was detained amidst the unrest as the protesters marched towards Parliament.
Their demonstration was met with a heavy police presence, resulting in several arrests, including Maseruka's.
After spending a brief period in custody, Maseruka appeared before the court, where he was granted a cash bail of Shs100,000.
Additionally, he was required to provide a non-cash bail of Shs500,000. The court’s decision has been welcomed by many supporters and activists who have been advocating for his release.
