Uganda has for a second time in two years been awarded the Gold as Best Investment Destination in Africa during the world’s leading investment platform AIM congress that took place in Abu Dhabi UAE on Tuesday May 7.

Winning the gold award as the Best Investment Destination in Africa at the AIM Congress in Abu Dhabi is indeed a remarkable achievement for Uganda. It underscores the country's ongoing efforts to foster a conducive environment for investment and economic development.

Minister Evelyn Anite's proactive approach in engaging with investors from top destinations reflects Uganda's commitment to seizing opportunities for growth and prosperity.

Breaking the news, Investment minister Evelyn Anite revealed that at the sidelines of the event, the foreign affairs team held bilateral talks with  BMS Holdings.

“The award is a strong recognition of efforts by the Government of Uganda and the Uganda Investment Authority in creating a conducive environment for investments and doing business in Uganda, including in the green economy,” she said.

The meeting nailed a significant promise, particularly regarding their interest in investing in Uganda's value addition to key commodities such as coffee, cocoa, and gold.

These investments have the potential to not only enhance Uganda's economic output but also create valuable employment opportunities and stimulate further innovation in the sector.

Overall, this recognition and the positive outcomes from bilateral discussions are encouraging signs for Uganda's economic future. It will be exciting to witness the tangible impacts of these investments on the country's development trajectory in the coming years.
