Tukamushaba crowned Miss Tourism South West
Hope Tukamushaba has been crowned Miss Tourism South West 2024/2025.
She was unveiled on Sunday at a glamorous event held at the Explorers Hub in Kololo.
The event organised by the South West cluster head, Zakia Lucky was attended by key tourism stakeholders and invited guests from across the country.
The esteemed panel of judges included the CEO of Vumbula Uganda, Peter Sebulime , also known as Demo Riley, Miss Tourism Africa ambassador Vanitah Busigye, and Miss Tourism 2021 Finalist and CEO of VBeauty, Vanessa Bagamba.
The judges rigorously tested the contestants' knowledge of tourism, asking insightful questions to determine who truly deserved the title.
The judges declared Precious Mbabazi as first Runner-Up, while Racheal Atuhaire emerged second Runner-Up. Other contestants earned titles in categories such as Miss Tourism South West in Talent, Sports, Conservation, and Heritage.
Speaking at the event, South West cluster head, Zakia extended appreciation to all the contestants for gracing the stage with confidence and poise.
“This evening has been a celebration of beauty, intelligence, and the rich tapestry of our region.
I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all the contestants who have graced this stage with their confidence and poise. Your journey has been a testament to the spirit of South West, and you have all emerged as winners in our hearts," she said.
She also expressed appreciation to the Miss Tourism Uganda for supporting the pageant, which she said has enabled them to showcase the best of South Western Uganda.
"Your commitment to promoting tourism and preserving our heritage is commendable.
Ladies and gentlemen, as we conclude this remarkable event, I want to emphasize that Miss Tourism South West is more than just a beauty pageant. It is a platform to elevate the tourism and heritage of our region to unprecedented heights,"
Accordingly, the newly crowned Miss Tourism South West will not only be a beauty queen but also an ambassador for the region's culture.
Zakia noted that Queen Tukamushaba, excelled in every stage of the competition, from talent showcases to cultural performances and creative design presentations, earning her the crown.
In her speech, Queen Tukamushaba, said she was honoured to represent South West region and it's rich cultural heritage.
"I invite everyone to explore and cherish the unique landscapes, traditions, and warmth of our people.I extend my gratitude to everyone for their unwavering support. Together, let's promote sustainable tourism and showcase the best of South West to the world," Tukamushaba said.
