Next Media yesterday hosted representatives from the vibrant Ugandan Audio Producers and Songwriters community at the Next Media Park.

They shared their inspiring new campaign, #WakeUpCall, which advocates for the rights of audio producers and songwriters in the copyright conversation.

The campaign seeks to ensure that these creatives receive fair compensation for their contributions to the music industry, alongside performers.

Next Media Group CEO, Kin Kariisa, met with the representatives and expressed his support for the initiative.

"We are firm believers that every stakeholder deserves a seat at the table for progress, and because of this, Next Media is proud to support this initiative by providing a venue at #NextMediaPark's Media Hub for an engaging session," said Kin Kariisa.

The event will be broadcast and live-streamed to ensure accessibility for all, allowing everyone to participate and join the conversation about the future of the music industry in Uganda.

With Next Media's support, the #WakeUpCall campaign aims to bring about positive change and empower local talent.
