The fire broke out at around 11pm on Friday and quickly turned into a blaze that spread through the building, leaving several businesses in ruins.

A massive fire destroyed property worth millions of shillings after engulfing a commercial building on plot 46, Naboa Road, late Thursday night.

The fire broke out at around 11pm on Friday and quickly turned into a blaze that spread through the building, leaving several businesses in ruins.

Witnesses described scenes of chaos as traders and bystanders desperately tried to salvage merchandise from the raging flames.

Firefighters and police arrived promptly but faced significant challenges due to the intensity of the fire. Despite their efforts, the inferno reduced most of the shops to ashes.

“This is my entire livelihood gone in a matter of minutes,” said one shop owner, visibly shaken by the incident. While no injuries were reported, the losses have left many business owners devastated.

Preliminary investigations point to an electrical fault as a possible cause, though authorities are conducting further inquiries to confirm the source of the fire.

The tragedy has raised concerns about fire safety measures in commercial buildings across the city, with many calling for stricter regulations and better preparedness to prevent such incidents in the future.
