Former Law Society president Deo Nkunzingoma dies
Former Uganda Law Society (ULS) president and dedicated lawyer, Deo Rubamba Nkunzingoma has passed on.
According to the ULS, Nkunzingoma passed on at Nakasero Hospital, Kampala on Sunday morning.

"The Uganda Law Society is saddened by the passing of its Past President, the dedicated lawyer and cherished friend, Mr. Deo Nkunzingoma, on July 21, 2024," the Society announced.
According to the burial programme, Nkunzingoma, is set to be buried on Wednesday at his ancestral home in Ruburankono Gasiza, Nyakabande sub-county, Kisoro district.
Following his death, many especially in the legal community have extended their eurogies to the former ULS president.
The current ULS president, Bernard Oundo, described the late as a cherished friend and colleague to many.
"I share the news of the passing on of Mr. Deo Rubamba Nkunzingoma, who was not only a Past President of the Uganda Law Society, but a cherished friend and colleague to many. May his Soul rest in Eternal peace."
Who is Nkunzingoma?
Born in 1960s, in Kisoro district, Nkunzingoma attended Kagera Primary School and upon completion, joined Mutolere Secondary School for Ordinary Level and thereafter Nyakasura School for Advanced Level education.
He later enrolled at Makerere University for a Bachelor's of Law degree in October 1980
and graduated in January 1984.
Nkunzingoma, graduated from Uganda Law Society in 1984.
He worked at Ayigihugu's Law firm, National Housing and Construction Corporation Legal office, Uganda Electricity Board as Legal Officer and Corporation Secretary and National Insurance Corporation before opening his law firm.
